Speakers Bureau

We believe that one of the best recruitment tools for new foster and adoptive parents is sharing personal experiences and stories. Sharing your story can inspire others to foster or adopt from foster care.

Our goal is to have trained families, youth, and professionals that we can call on immediately to share their positive adoption and foster care experiences.

As a member of the speaker’s bureau, we may call on you to:

●      Speak to local media

●      Represent Mission WV at foster care and adoption events

●      Have your story featured on our website, social media accounts, email newsletters, and other publications

The Carry - On Campaign

Please contact Mission West Virginia prior to dropping off a donation. Thank you!

The goal of the Carry-On campaign is to eliminate garbage bags as an acceptable form of luggage for children in foster care. With help from generous donors in our community, we are reaching our goal one bag at a time. Please help us by donating new luggage or duffle bags. In addition, if you are able, please pack them with essential items (listed on the flyer).

Care Package Program

As a Care Package volunteer, you or the group of people who sign up will agree to send care packages to the child you are matched with. These packages should be given to the child for their birthday, Christmas and a 3rd holiday chosen by the volunteer(s). While we cannot provide the location of the child or details about their history, you will receive the child’s name, birthday, grade in school, age, their interests, their favorite foods, sport teams, books, movies and hobbies. When your care package is ready, deliver it to Mission West Virginia and we will give it to the child.
