WV Scholarships
West Virginia Higher Education Grant
The West Virginia Higher Education Grant is a need-based financial aid program designed to ensure West Virginia students with financial need are given an opportunity to pursue post-secondary education.
West Virginia PROMISE Scholarship
The Promise Scholarship is a merit-based financial aid program for West Virginia high school graduates planning to attend one of the state’s public or independent two- or four-year institutions.
Students attending any of the family of WVU campuses (from the flagship campus in Morgantown, to the liberal arts hub of WVU Potomac State in Keyser, to the technology-intensive programs at WVU Tech in Beckley) are eligible.
Choose West Virginia Practice Program
The Choose West Virginia Practice Program is a tuition waiver program for medical students who are nonresidents. It encourages students to attend one of the schools listed above and to maintain a good academic and professional standing.
West Virginia Nursing Scholarship Program
The West Virginia Nursing Scholarship Program provides scholarships for students enrolled in an accredited West Virginia nursing program. Students will receive scholarship awards in exchange for completing a service obligation in the state.
Higher Education Adult Part-Time Student Grant Program
The goal of the Higher Education Adult Part-Time Student (HEAPS) Grant Program is to encourage and enable West Virginia students who demonstrate financial need to continue their education on a part-time basis at undergraduate institutions of higher education.
West Virginia Engineering, Science and Technology Scholarship Program
This scholarship program encourages students with exceptional academic achievements to pursue STEM-related careers. Priority will be given to residents of West Virginia.
West Virginia Higher Education Grant
This grant may be used at approved post-secondary public and independent institutions in West Virginia or Pennsylvania. The grant is provided based on financial need and assists students in pursuing a college degree.
Wheeling University Institutional Scholarships
Wheeling University provides a wide range of scholarship opportunities to help meet the financial need of students. These scholarships are based upon test scores, GPA, and other factors.
Alderson Boarddus University Scholarships
Alderson Boarddus University provides scholarship and grant opportunities including but not limited to academic scholarships, the AB GO Give Scholarship, and the AB Legacy Scholarship.
Appalachian Bible College Scholarships
The Appalachian Bible College, also known as ABC, provides need-based financial aid. Students may receive a scholarship award from $1,500 to $20,000, depending on the scholarship they apply to.
Marshall University Scholarships
Marshall University makes it easy for students to apply to multiple scholarships with one application.
Students can rest easy knowing the full cost of basic tuition and fees are taken care of with this grant. The grant covers select certificate and associate degree programs at a two- or four-year institution in West Virginia.
The Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation
TGKVF provides more than 100 statewide scholarships, just a portion of the 500+ funds they administer. Last year, TGKVF funded 362 scholarships with a total funding of $736,182.
New students and returning students are encouraged to apply to this community college scholarship to help fund their education. The scholarship website also contains external opportunities for students to apply for scholarships whether or not they reside in West Virginia to apply funding toward their college education.
