She’ll explain different methods that she has used in her home with her own adopted children as well as long-term solutions to help families plan to help their children overcome these issues.

About the presenter:
Nikki Snuffer is a Kinship Care Liaison at Mission West Virginia where she has helped families for the past several years. She is also a co-trainer for the Social Worker Education Consortium where she trains new foster parents and kinship relatives, an Instructor for the Future Leaders Program at Winfield High School, and is also a foster/adoptive parent.
Nikki shares the knowledge and experiences she’s gained as a foster/adoptive parent with families across the state. Her goal at Mission West Virginia is to help ensure that families have the tools and knowledge they need in order to navigate the foster care system and do the best they can for children in their care. She hopes to help minimize placement disruptions in foster homes by providing various types of training to help parents understand different behaviors they may be experiencing at home. She also operates an online support group and a warm-line to provide immediate assistance to families in need.
Nikki is a mother to eight children through foster care and adoption, two children through foster/kinship placement, and has one granddaughter on the way.

Walk With Me is an event to create awareness about foster care in West Virginia and a celebration of foster families and the children they care for. May is National Foster Care Month, so join us for a great opportunity to support WV kids in care, meet other families that have fostered/adopted and have fun while doing it.
What to expect: walk around GoMart Ballpark (at your own pace, have fun!), face painting, entertainment, games and lots of family friendly fun!
Foster, adoptive, and kinship families can register for FREE by entering the code (FOSTER) at time of registration. For walkers age 2 and older registration fee is $10.00.

Trooper First Class T. D. McFeeley member of the Crimes Against Children’s Unit of the State Police, will provide general education on the internet, it’s dangers and safety concerns. TFC McFeeley has been a member of the WV State Police force for 8 years, stationed around the state. He is currently stationed at South Charleston and has served in Clay, Calhoun, Kanawha and Mason Counties. He has investigated a variety of cases and now specializes in the online exploitation of children cases along with sexual/abuse cases with children.

Listeners will learn the risk factors that accompany bullying and suicide as well as the statistics of these issues. Children today are experiencing a new digital world, different from the childhood of their parents. Common Sense Media reports that teenagers spend about seven hours a day on a digital device for entertainment; children ages 12 and younger spend over 4 and a half hours. How do parents keep pace with this digital activity? This presentation will share insights on how parents can navigate parenting in a digital world in a positive way.

Allison Bonacci, Director of Education, Cyber Safety Consulting
Allison Bonacci is the Director of Education for Cyber Safety Consulting. She brings over 12 years’ experience educating and presenting cyber safety strategies to students, parents, and educators nationwide. As a member of the Consumer Protection Division of the Michigan Attorney General’s Office, Allison presented customized safety presentations to thousands of students in grades K-12 and facilitated seminars for parents, teachers, and school administrators.
Allison is passionate about cyber safety and protecting students. She believes in educating students about the dangers of the internet and empowering them to protect themselves while using technology. She understands the importance of challenging students to become responsible digital citizens.
As a mother of three children, Allison knows firsthand the challenges parents face when trying to protect their children online, and the importance of being involved in their digital lives. She shares Cyber Safety Consulting’s vision for online student safety and wants to provide parents and educators with the necessary tools to help their students navigate the online world.
Allison has an MBA with a professional background including many years of communications and marketing. She is thrilled to be a part of Cyber Safety Consulting’s team.
Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program Webinar
Mission WV's THINK program empowers teens to make positive life choices through education, life skills and coaching. Our program is evidence-based and helps the students we work with navigate the social-emotional pressures all teens face as they develop. This includes building healthy relationships, and healthy choices around drugs and alcohol, and pregnancy prevention.
We use new and innovative approaches to prevent teen pregnancy, prevent sexually transmitted infections (STIs) among adolescents, and promote optimal health.

Jill Gwilt is the THINK Director for the Mission WV THINK Program. She is an innovative leader with over 13 years of experience implementing and managing youth programs, including healthy relationship education, positive youth development, and adolescent pregnancy prevention. Ms. Gwilt holds a BA in Psychology with an emphasis in Applied Leadership. She currently oversees 3 federal grants and 2 state grants that serve over 15,000 youth a year with full evidence-based curricula. All grants are directed toward teen pregnancy prevention and healthy relationship education. Jill Gwilt is trained in Love Notes (2.1 and SRAE), Relationship SMARTS Plus (Original and SRAE), Promoting Health Among Teens!-Abstinence Only, Making Proud Choices, Draw the Line/Respect the Line, Choosing the Best, and Within My Reach.
