A FRESH APPROACH TO ADDRESSING ALCOHOL AND SEXUAL ASSAULT

Kelly and Becca will share some of their best practices, large scale successes, some of their award-winning tools and multi-media pieces on how to address this seemingly difficult topic, effectively. Using research informed practices, taking into consideration the needs of all different types of learners and getting real about how to make bystander intervention effective. They have taken this topic and broken it into the four critical questions that when we can answer we can begin to create a culture of consent. This is a session that is all about shooting straight and solving the challenges we face surrounding this issue.

Session Goals:

  • Clearly address the challenges related to the topic of alcohol and sexual assault

  • Share generational learning needs and different tactics to move communities to being informed and empowered to take action.

  • Address why a key component of what we know about bystander intervention fails and how we can address it.
